The Designer

Textiles have been my whole life. This collection is where it all comes together.

I trained at Atelier Textile in Montreal — a school-workshop dedicated entirely to textile design and print. During those years I learned my craft from the ground up: colour theory, how to build a repeat print, and the discipline and patience of working with fabrics.

After graduating, I was hired as a technician in the textile department at Cirque du Soleil. For years I hand-dyed fabrics, screen printed, and hand-painted fabrics for the costumes of the athletes and acrobats, collaborating closely with other creators — seamstresses, pattern designers — to bring extraordinary costumes to life. This is where I truly honed my craft.

During those same years, I was running a small atelier out of my basement in Montreal on evenings and weekends. Hand printing, finishing, and packaging every piece — every tea towel folded and wrapped carefully by hand — sold to multiple stores across Montreal. It was a lot of hard work and dedication, and I loved it.

The dream of making beautifully designed, truly well-made linen tea towels available to people everywhere in the world has been with me from the very beginning.
